Goppie in the Woods

We, Goppie in the Woods passed the competition, held in Féile Tokyo, and qualified Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Drogheda 2019 as Duet.

However, it costs about 660 euros to get the air ticket to Ireland and we also need budgets for staying in Ireland. Thanks to Ireland Fund and people who donated us, we got 43,000 yen (about 356 euros) for each person. Many people supported us and especially, CCÉ Japan helped us in many ways.

This is the reason why we launch this project. We made CD and are going to make the documentary movie and gigs. The target figure is 100,000 yen (about 828 euros). This project will be finished on August 15.

Feb, 2016. Ryo Nakabayashi (Bayashi) and I visited Ireland for the first time. We were the member of Irish music society at University of Tokyo.

It was a good time and we have been into Irish traditional music and Ireland itself since then. We started playing banjo and melodion after that and made the band "Goppie in the Woods."

I am going to start working in Japan from next year and I started to think that I want to play at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann before that. I hope we play together at Fleadh and visit to Ireland again.

We passed the competition, held in Féile Tokyo, and qualified. In addition, thanks to Ireland Fund and people who donated for us, we got 43000 yen (about 356 euros) for each person. We really appreciate all of you supporting us. Especially, CCÉ Japan supported us in many ways.

However, it costs about 660 euros to get the air ticket and we also need budgets for staying in Ireland. This is the reason why we launch this project. We think it is the best way to show what we learned from the music and Ireland. It may be also the culmination of our friendship.

I wrote this to explain why we launch this project and we must do this to meet the expectation of all the supporters. If you think you want to support us or want to listen to our tunes, to watch the documentary, and want to join the show, it is our pleasure.

P.S. As a band, we made CD and are going to make the documentary movie and gigs. The target figure is 100000 yen (about 828euros).
